This is how we should pray, according to Matthew’s 6th chapter: We should say the model prayer delivered by JESUS himself!
Matthew’s 6th chapter starts out with Jesus telling us to do good.
But Jesus doesn’t want you to do it with “sounding a trumpet” before doing it.
That means that Jesus doesn’t want you to go around announcing that you’re about to help someone.
Nowadays, that’s the same as filming it for social media.
Doing good is always a positive thing.
But don’t film it, don’t announce it.
Why would you?
GOD knows that you are helping, he knows everything.
You could help someone in secret and GOD would know it.
You don’t need to show it to everyone.
This is how you should pray: The model prayer
Matthew wrote down the model prayer in his 6th chapter.
This is how we should pray.
And it’s absolutely beautiful.
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
– Jesus Christ
Jesus doesn’t want you to pray on the streets for everyone to see.
Praying is something intimate.
He wants you to pray at home.
Where you are alone.
Except you’re never alone.
Because GOD is always with you!
Jesus comments on money
What do you think Jesus said about money?
Well, he doesn’t want you to hoard things that just attract moth, rust, and thieves.
He wants you to keep your heart free of all the bad feelings money brings.
And Jesus doesn’t want you to serve two masters, GOD and riches.
You cannot serve GOD and mammon
– Jesus Christ
Don’t let money poison your soul.
Money should buy you the things you need, yes.
But do not let it consume you.
Don’t chase it. Don’t love it.
Love GOD, and serve Him.
You should not worry
Matthew’s 6th chapter is already so important, but it’s about to get even more important.
Because this is another lesson that you need to not only learn, but truly understand.
Jesus doesn’t want you to worry.
Don’t worry about the clothes you have and the food you eat.
And, once more, JESUS said something very beautiful.
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
– Jesus Christ
GOD provides for the birds, and they never worry about life.
GOD provides for humans, and yet they constantly worry.
But we shouldn’t.
We have God in our life!
Not worrying about the things we can’t change anyway is something more people should practice.
If you can’t change it, don’t bother worrying about it.
If you don’t worry about things you can’t change, you’re not only pleasing God, but also yourself.
Not worrying is good for your soul.
Do you worry too often? What do you do to worry less?
